What’s the Opportunity

The Senior Manager, AI & Data Initiatives will be responsible for bringing RBC’s AI & Digital Transformation (ADT) program to life. This role will support ADT initiatives within Credit & Fraud Management (CFM), driving ambitious changes across CFM by enhancing machine learning and data capabilities through change initiatives. You will lead cross-functional efforts to identify, develop, and implement AI, ML, and data-driven solutions that improve decision-making, reduce fraud losses, and unlock operational efficiency. In collaboration with teams across RBC, you will represent the collective interests of CFM on ADT initiatives and align deliverables to our overarching data strategy.

What will you do?

  • Work closely with Detection, Data Science, and Quantitative & Analytics Monitoring stakeholders to ensure analytics, machine learning, modeling, and reporting needs are met by projects’ data requirements
  • Collaborate with the Fraud Strategy, Operations, IT, and teams across the bank in brainstorming and solutioning exercises, provide business recommendation and judgement, and translate priorities into project requirements
  • Lead AI and data requirements and planning on systems integration projects, create and execute test plans for CFM use cases, and lead the development of project launch playbooks
  • Manage project risks, issues, questions, and critical decisions related to AI and data requirements, ensuring proper steps are taken to mitigate, escalate, and communicate detailed information to senior leadership and CFM stakeholders
  • Support the project during post-launch warranty period by establishing a seamless transition to end-users and monitoring production issues
  • Understand banking data from multiple lines of businesses and how it can be utilized in the Fraud ecosystem to combat fraudulent behaviours

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong leadership capabilities; comfortable in a high visibility role with interactions across all levels of the organization
  • Experience working as a core team member on transformational initiatives, with proven collaboration skills to interact with end-users, business analysts, and developers to capture AI and data requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience in data analytics, AI & data science, reporting, MIS (or similar), working with large, real-world datasets
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to perform data and gap analysis and to solve complex problems
  • Proven communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to effectively communicate AI, data science, and analytical recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with technology infrastructure concepts eg. relational databases, data feeds, data structures, APIs, data models
  • Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
  • Business Oriented, Change Management, Communication, Data Analysis, Group Problem Solving, Project Administration, Time Management, Waterfall Model

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working in systems-integration projects
  • Experience designing use cases, test cases, and data flow diagrams
  • Knowledge of HDFS, AWS cloud infrastructure, S3 buckets, Snowflake, Kafka, ElasticSearch, big data analytics and modeling
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile Project Management
  • Understanding of fraud detection and prevention
