What is the Opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to join Wealth Management (WM) Finance, Performance Management (PM) team. The mandate of the WM PM team is to deliver value-added management reporting and enhance driver-based analytics for WM segment by working closely with the business advisory and financial controller teams.
As a Senior Manager, Wealth Management Finance, you will build strong business relationships across WM finance, Head Office (HO) finance, WM strategy, GRM, Treasury and Reporting Shared Services (RSS) teams. You will be responsible for providing insightful financial analytics and management presentations for senior Finance and Wealth Management Executives. Reporting to the Director WM Finance, this position will also undertake management reporting & analytics for WM segment and produce reporting packages for WM segment that will be distributed to Senior Management and Head Office.
What Will You Do?
Responsible for analyzing business performance and collaborating with WM finance business advisors to produce monthly and quarterly reporting packages including monthly flash results, monthly operating results, quarterly assurance review (QAR) material, rating agency material and other ad-hoc executive documents.
Responsible for addressing monthly and quarterly requirements from Head Office finance teams including review of WM related sections in the Investor Relations (IR) presentations / material and providing key metrics and variance explanation as requested by HO PM team.
Collaborate with WM finance teams to deliver estimates for monthly and quarterly financial performance of WM businesses to senior executives and HO Performance Management team.
Build upon and / or strengthen trusted relationships with various contributors / stakeholders including WM finance, HO Finance, GRM, Treasury, Reporting Shared Services (RSS) and WM Strategy teams, for meeting month-end/quarter-end management and external reporting requirements
Develop insightful drivers-based analyses on WM performance with a focus on key performance metrics (financial and non-financial) related to the WM industry
Lead/Assist in the identification and implementation of process simplification and streamlining opportunities, including but not limited to, the automation of reports by leveraging available IT tools (e.g. Tableau, Office 365, Power query, RPA) and transition of standard reports to RSS team
As required, lead/provide support for adhoc initiatives/requests and month-end/quarter-end activities.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
Accounting/Finance designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA, CFA, M.Fin. or MBA) or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated and independent worker with a solutions-driven mind-set
Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Sense of urgency and ability to handle demands from multiple directions amidst submission deadlines
Solid relationship management skills since frequent interaction with key contacts is necessary to be successful in this role
Ability to impact/influence without direct authority
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
Nice to have
Previous experience working in Financial Services/Wealth Management Finance area
Working knowledge of TM1 and Perspectives and any relational database applications
RBC Finance and organizational knowledge
People management experience
Knowledge of Macros/VBA, Tableau and Power Query
