Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

What will you do?

  • Implement and integrate automation tools, AI frameworks and self-healing to improve operational efficiency.

  • Provide technical support for enterprise intelligent operations tools, AI platforms, and other digital products

  • Manage, monitor and troubleshoot clusters in production environments

  • Collaborate with the development team to understand the architecture and design of source systems.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.

  • You will be responsible for working closely with DevOps, SRE, Production Support and app dev teams to support log and application related data ingestion and feature engineering, establishing industry best practices, maintaining and managing technical documentations.

  • Develop and maintain documentation on system procedures, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment of new features and updates on cloud, mainframe, Windows as well as Linux systems.

  • Debug and resolve search relevancy, performance, and scalability issues.

  • Promote best practices for the implementation of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery for search systems

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of professional and hands-on experience in software engineering using Python OR Java; frameworks like Panda.

  • Experience creating API’s and integrating using API’s

  • Experience with system administration in RedHat Linux OS and Apache Solar

  • Strong experience with monitoring/SRE tools like Dynatrace, PagerDuty, ELK Stack

  • Knowledge of DevOps tools like Git, Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with an investigative mentality and a proactive approach.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with mainframe development using COBOL.

  • Experience as a platform engineer.

  • Exposure to GenAI tools and capabilities, digital transformation programs, or data enablement initiatives.

  • Experience in building data products for analytics visualizations

  • Have experience with at least one of the Object-Oriented development languages such as: C++, C# .NET, Java
