What is the opportunity?

Play a Key Role in Protecting and Unlocking the Value of RBC’s Data

At RBC, data is one of our most valuable assets — driving smarter decisions, better client experiences, and stronger business outcomes. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Governance Analyst to help ensure our data is accurate, consistent, secure, and compliant with internal data standards across the enterprise.

What will you do?

  • Support maintenance of data governance related activities including data and privacy risk assessments.
  • Analyze the data assets generated from the documented business processes for shortcomings to be presented to data owners to resolve.
  • Work with data stewards and business owners to ensure data definitions are defined, documented, and maintained, including lineage, and metadata.
  • Review incoming requests for access to risk data assets ensuring alignment with governance standards, security controls and enterprise requirements.
  • Support data stewards and business owners with establishing monitoring for data quality metrics and issue investigations.
  • Assist in the development of data catalogs and ensure information is kept up to date.
  • Monitor changes to Enterprise Frameworks, Policies, and Standards impacting data to support adherence to regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Create clear documentation, dashboards, and communications to promote awareness of data governance practices.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience working in data governance, data management, or business data analysis within financial services or a regulated industry.
  • Strong analytical and technical literacy with the ability to work with data lineage, metadata, and quality tools.
  • Strategic thinking and execution skills to translate governance principles into practical solutions.
  • Stakeholder management and influence abilities to build consensus across business and technology teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication to explain governance concepts in simple, actionable terms.
  • Proven collaboration and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Adaptability and problem solving to address evolving data challenges.
