What is the opportunity?

RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to Canadian Banking’s revenues and profits. The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative marketing efforts.

The successful candidate for this role will provide thought leadership and strategic oversight for acquisition activities within Retail and Business Credit Cards for internal cross-sell programs. As the Senior Manager, Retail Credit Card Acquisition you will be accountable for the leadership and management of the pre-approved Cards program, pre-approving existing RBC clients for a credit card through all bank-owned channels. Partnering with Next Best Action (NBA), Marketing, PMCS, Product, Risk, etc., you will be responsible for quarterbacking all monthly Cards deployments and consistently optimizing strategies to focus on profitability and growing market share.

What will you do?

  • Lead the Cards acquisition pre-approval program, working across several partner teams to drive the successful monthly campaign deployment of pre-approved credit card offers to existing RBC clients

  • Leverage data analytics, curiosity and critical thinking to identify new opportunities for program growth by optimizing eligible clients, response rates, card volumes and NIBT

  • In partnership with Next Best Action (NBA) and PMCS, advance RBC’s vision towards hyper-personalization and client orchestration by evolving existing credit strategy and targeting models, and client marketing communications

  • Monitor channel health and KPI reporting – analyze, summarize, and present channel reporting at Cards leadership meetings including Cards Monthly Business Review (MBR), Acquisition SMT, and other forums

  • Navigate through any escalations, client remediations, or fulfillment issues on CASPER or Digital flows, in partnership with stakeholders from Operations, IT, and Digital teams

  • Ad Hoc duties/business casing and analysis as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Experience in/knowledge of credit card industry

  • Experience owning a channel or business P&L, with a proven ability to take a data driven approach to make decisions and strategic recommendations

  • Exceptional executional and organizational skills, executing campaigns with speed and accuracy while documenting and prioritizing upcoming program launches/updates

  • Creative problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset, innate curiosity and strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication, story-telling and deck-building skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with CASPER, Originate, ORDM and other credit card acquisition fulfillment flows

  • Coding or deep data analytics experience including SQL
