The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in London, ON is looking for a resourceful, efficient and collaborative individual to join our leading wealth management firm as an Investment Associate.
As an Investment Associate, you will work with an Investment Advisor team and be responsible for leading the execution of the team’s Investment Management operations. Actively manage and process trades, as well as handle portfolio rebalancing. By providing exceptional ongoing service and support to our clients and our Advisor team, you will help our team deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. As an invaluable internal and external point of contact, you will play a key role in maintaining client accounts, ensuring account administration and documentation remain up-to-date and compliant.
What will you do?
- Lead execution of the team’s Investment Management Operations
- Execute trades and rebalance portfolios.
- Follow up on client trades to ensure proper settlement and delivery.
- Provide proactive client service with a focus on problem resolution and attention to details. Liaise with various departments for execution, where necessary.
- Respond to client inquiries (account transactions, requests for tax receipts, account reporting, etc.).
- Assist the Advisor team with client onboarding.
- Help manage incoming communications from clients, Advisors and other internal and external partners.
- Maintain existing client accounts and identify opportunities to contact clients: manage timelines and key dates for accounts
- Ensure accurate and timely updates of all necessary documentation in compliance with internal controls and industry regulatory requirements. Maintain complete and up-to-date client files within appropriate systems.
- Help update team’s communication channels: websites, LinkedIn, Facebook, brochures, newsletters.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) course and Wealth Management Essentials (WME) course
- Approval as a Registered Representative (RR) with CIRO
- 4 years or more of professional experience within the investment industry
- University degree
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
- High quality time management and organization skills
- Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated skills in providing world-class client service that will come across as professional, warm, and friendly to our clients
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Highly developed client service skills
