What is the opportunity?

In this role you will be responsible for an assigned number of accounts that specialize in same-day turnaround & Buy/Hold settlement activities. These accounts are a variety of Domestic and International Broker Dealers & Correspondent Financial Institution clients, who participate in T+1 & same day Purchase & Sale trading activities that require highly specialized trade management through CDSX, TRAX, BANCS and Over the Counter (OTCO), Crossboarder (OTCB).

What will you do?

• Identify and resolve problems and work with internal/external contacts to ensure corrective actions and proper procedures are put in place

• Activities related to trade settlement for the North American Markets.

• Process, Authorize & Reconcile relevant entries to respective systems and platform where and when applicable

• Maintain & Review DOP’s.Ensures Desk Operating Procedures capture all unique processes and able to provide recommendations to streamline processes and/or closure of any possible gap.

• Ensure that RBC IS’ projects and quality initiatives are fully endorsed and integrated into the day to day processes.

• Establish an environment of continuous improvement that assesses workflow, processes and procedures on an ongoing basis, ensuring maximum efficiency and quality within the department.

• Reconciliation of Cash & Asset breaks related to Trade Settlement

• Communicate with internal and/or external clients to facilitate Trade Settlement Activities .

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

• 2-5 years’ experience with Financial Institutions, Broker/Dealer environment

• Experience working in a trade settlements team supporting the Canadian Markets

• Post Secondary Education in Finance

• Strong Team player, with time management, communication and technical skills

Nice-to-have:

• Experience using BaNCs, CDS, DTCC (BONY)
