What will you do?

Analyze, design, deliver, and implement analytic development projects, with the use of RBC’s analytics tools,

Ensure that project activities are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budgets

Apply data warehouse concepts and methodologies to various projects

Be an active contributor to not only your individual team, but to the RBC development community

Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes

Work as part of an agile team responsible for end-to-end delivery of business needs

Use business domain knowledge to independently lead the analytics process to turn raw data into actionable insights and presenting findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner

Promote analytics across the enterprise to enable RBC to become a data-driven organization

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics

Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment

Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)

Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment

Experience or understanding of open-source software frameworks (Hadoop), data visualization tools (Tableau and Splunk), and databases (SQL and/or VBA)

Programming skills in one or more languages (ex. Python, SAS)

Ability to data extract, transform, and load processes with a variety of data types

Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders

Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice-to-have

Proficient in building statistical and algorithmic models with complex and large datasets, including but not limited to: graph network analysis, clustering, natural language processing, data visualization.

Knowledge of design, development, and implementation utilizing current analytics technologies and architecture, as well as data warehouse concepts and methodologies

Relational database concepts and design experience

Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Summer 2026 Student placement with a start date of May 2026, and end date of August 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
