Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

As the Senior Project Manager, HR PMO, you will play a key role in the Program/Project Management Office of HR Operational Excellence supporting HR Talent Services. You will manage Programs/Projects within RBC HR with a focus on HR Operations projects including recommendations on project, scope, timing and issue resolutions.

What will you do?

  • Oversee project processes and procedures across multiple concurrent projects; monitor the productivity and performance of project teams.

  • Manage all aspects of projects including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of project.

  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and completion of project goals.

  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Undergraduate degree and ideally a Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification.

  • At least 5-7 years of experience as a proven leader driving large and complex cross-functional program delivery, leading change, team collaboration, transparency, and alignment on goals and expectations. Preferably experience with Human Resources projects.

  • Demonstrated agile delivery experience, with the knowledge and ability to influence ways of working, set up scaled agile delivery squads and establish effective routines.

  • Experienced with measuring initiative value and benefits by establishing and monitoring program objectives and key results to align with business goals, breaking work down into manageable deliverables.

  • Advanced stakeholder and relationship management skills, with a focus on building partner relationships and influencing outcomes with senior leaders.

  • Advanced communication and facilitation skills (verbal and written) with experience tailoring messages to diverse audiences, delivering presentations and facilitating inclusive discussions for senior-level audiences.

  • Advanced planning and scheduling expertise, with experience in building and maintaining detailed large and integrated program schedules, roadmaps, and timelines.

  • Financial program management experience in budget management, financial forecasting, cost-benefit analysis and vendor invoicing.

  • Advanced understanding and experience with risk and issue management frameworks, including the ability to conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain transparency in reporting.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in managing transformational business and technology programs at a large financial services company, across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Professional Certifications including PMP/PGMP, CSM/ACSM, SAFE.

  • Understanding of HR technologies such as Workday and SAP.

  • Prior experience at RBC and familiarity with RBC’s Project Governance is an asset.
