What is the opportunity?
RBC’s Office of the US CIO is responsible for the oversight of all technology supporting the firm’s Combined US Operations (CUSO). The CUSO includes Capital Markets, Wealth Management, City National Bank, RBC Bank (US), and Global Asset Management within the US. Technology groups supporting the CUSO business lines, both directly and indirectly are included in the purview of the Office of the US CIO.
As a US CIO Office Business Manager, you will assist in the planning, tracking, and reporting of the technology spend in support of the firm’s Combined US Operations.
What will you do?
- Act as primary coverage contact within US CIO Office for US CFO, T&O, and Business Finance teams supporting US Tech financials
- Oversee and assist with the collection and reporting of all forecasted technology spend that is or will be allocated to the CUSO, including software development, infrastructure charges, support costs, vendor contracts, and software or service licensing
- Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reports for Technology Operating Committee meetings
- Work with CUSO CFO’s office to ensure all relevant technology financial reporting is timely and accurate
- Work in partnership with the respective lines of business across the CUSO to align on annual technology budgets
- Perform deep-dive analysis of technology spend areas within CUSO units to assess value for spend and alignment with strategic priorities
- Assist in development of financial forecasting and actual spend reporting on all vendor-based technology delivery or support charged to the CUSO, inclusive of in-business or enterprise services as well as explicit technology organizations
- Assist in day-to-day business management of US CIO Office (budget review, vendor payments, invoice tracking, Org Chart maintenance, etc.)
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- 3+ years of Business/Financial Management/Analysis experience
- Keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills with ability to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on a continuous basis
- Experience in Financial Control and Reporting
- Strong Excel and presentation tool skillset
- Strong analytic and data mining and organization skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills to program and executive leadership
- Resourceful, proactive and strategic
- Commitment to excellence and ability to meet high standards
Nice-to-have:
- Experience within a CIO (technology focused) organization
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly-traded corporation
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
