What is the opportunity?
The Portfolio Advisory team is responsible for providing independent investment advice and guidance to the 2000+ investment advisors and their teams across RBC Dominion Securities.
As a member of the Portfolio Advisory Group, the Associate Portfolio Advisor, ETFs helps advisors construct and manage portfolios for retail clients, with a focus on ETFs. The role also provides the opportunity to deliver a considerable range of thought leadership through a broad range of internal and client-oriented channels.
The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, communication skills, an interest in developing their knowledge of the capital markets and investment management, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, be a strong problem solver, and the ability to interpret and articulate complex information.
What will you do?
- Develop an expertise and provide research/support on ETFs to a national network of full-service investment advisors
- Research and evaluate ETF and industry trends to provide insights for investment decisions
- Provide thought leadership around ETFs, including written publications
- Leverage research resources by highlighting relevant investment ideas and analysis
- Support members of the multi-asset strategy team with the construction and management of a suite of multi-asset/multi-solution and ETF portfolios
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
- Bachelor's Degree or higher level education
- Quick learner and strong adaptability
- Excellent communicator (writing, speaking, presenting)
- Ability to dissect complex ideas and concepts to provide clear, timely and relevant insights.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of the global equity and fixed income markets, and the ability to assess risk and opportunity across asset classes
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of diligence
- Ability to work and successfully collaborate in a team environment
Nice to have
- Previous experience working with investment advisors and/or portfolio managers
- Portfolio management experience
- Experience with investment analysis-related software such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Morningstar, FactSet, etc.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$55,000.00 - $90,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
