The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Define and evolve the end-to-end architecture for a distributed, event-driven ecosystem spanning MongoDB, SQL, Redis (Redis Enterprise / ElastiCache), Elasticsearch, Kafka/Solace, and workflow schedulers.
  • Establish and enforce data and event standards: domain models, event contracts, schema evolution/versioning, backward compatibility, and indexing conventions.
  • Own MongoDB/SQL operational excellence: cluster topology, replica sets, sharding strategy, upgrades/patching, backups/restore, DR, monitoring, and incident response. Develop and tune SQL queries, views, and procedures/functions (where applicable) supporting operational reporting, reconciliations, and downstream integrations.
  • Design and optimize schemas, indexes, query plans, aggregation pipelines, and change stream patterns to meet p95/p99 latency and throughput SLOs.
  • Design and implement event-driven ingestion and propagation using Kafka and Solace (topics/queues, consumer groups, pub/sub patterns, ordering, and routing).
  • Build and operate workflows using Apache Airflow and/or Control-M to orchestrate batch jobs, near-real-time sync processes, backfills, and scheduled reconciliations.
  • Architect, build, and administer Redis Enterprise / ElastiCache for caching and low-latency state aligned to event-driven workloads.
  • Own data and platform migrations (MongoDB ↔ MongoDB, MongoDB ↔ SQL, cache/index rebuilds): planning, backfills, cutovers, rollback, and verification.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Strong IC ownership: ability to deliver and operate complex platforms in a fast-moving enterprise environment.

  • Strong Node.js skills for building data services and event consumers/producers (connection pooling, resiliency, observability).
  • Event streaming/messaging experience with Kafka and Solace (pub/sub, consumer groups, delivery semantics, backpressure, DLQs, and reprocessing).
  • Operational excellence: observability/alerting, capacity planning, incident response, and root-cause analysis.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in regulated environments (auditability, access control, encryption/key management, change governance).
  • Experience defining and enforcing SLOs for event processing (end-to-end latency, throughput, error budgets).
  • Familiarity with governance concepts (retention, lineage, data quality frameworks).

What’s in it for you?

  • We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
