Job Description

    What is the opportunity?

    As the Senior Manager, Commercial Cards, you will oversee product management for Commercial Cards core services and platforms for mid-market commercial clients. The focus of this role will be on expansion and growth opportunities and enhancing client experience to optimize revenue and profitability. You will also support improvement of key performance indicators for the Commercial Cards product suite and tasks related to supporting day to day business needs.

    What will you do?

    • Lead product strategy and development for Commercial Cards, optimizing product features, value proposition, promotion, digital capabilities, pricing and process enhancements to strengthen market presence, drive revenue and profitability

    • Manage the product P&L, setting growth objectives and overseeing key revenue drivers

    • Support the development of annual business plans and long-term strategies for growth of the portfolio, including business, marketing, sales channel and operational strategies. Ensure initiatives align to broader Business Financial Services (BFS) growth objectives to drive the delivery of financial targets

    • Assist with the development and management of the product strategy and pipeline strategy for key segments, with a key focus on redefining the Commercial Cards product suite and industry vertical strategy for future growth

    • Evaluate ongoing opportunities to enhance commercial credit card product value propositions leveraging cardholder insights, competitive and market trends, benchmarking and best practices

    • Understand and represent the customer perspective, linking market research, business client information, product/service strategies and translate into achievable business results and plans

    • Ensure that operations, product and rewards policies are aligned with portfolio strategies and deliver intended results, limiting negative impacts on RBC sales staff and clients; manage the resolution of customer escalations and policy exceptions as required

    • Develop expertise of industry dynamics, financial drivers and commercial cardholder behaviours, share insights with broader cards team and key stakeholders including BFS partners

    What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have:

    • Degree in Business, Finance or a related field

    • 5+ years of product management and/or commercial cards experience, with demonstrated track record of driving revenue

    • Innovative thinker with the ability to conceptualize changes in market conditions and capitalize on strategic opportunities

    • Strong business acumen, financial and analysis skills to understand key business drivers, forecast and interpret trends to direct strategic business decisions

    • Demonstrated experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams

    • Effective communication and presentation skills

    Nice to have:

    • MBA or other business-related degree or accreditation

    • Knowledge of Business/Commercial Markets

    • Treasury, payments or cash management experience

    • Experience in a marketing or sales related environment
