What is the opportunity?

RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to Canadian Banking’s revenues and profits. The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative marketing efforts.


The successful candidate for this role will provide thought leadership and strategic oversight for acquisition activities within Retail Credit Cards in our Digital channels including Partner and 3rd party channels. As the Manager, Cards Digital and Partner Acquisition, you will be accountable for identifying areas for growth and/or optimization, as well as ensuring we constantly have a view on how our current investments/activities are performing for this business. You will be working on tactics that span multiple acquisition channels or strategies, taking a data driven approach to raising the overall performance of the team. Partnering with product, marketing, credit strategy, risk, etc., you will be responsible for optimizing acquisition strategies to focus on profitability and growing market share.

What will you do?

  • Develop and optimize the Acquisition framework with existing external and internal partners (Linked Loyalty and Enduring Value partnerships) to drive card acquisition

  • Effectively communicate and work with various stakeholders from departments across marketing, legal and compliance to execute digital and partner acquisition strategies

  • Support the ongoing management of our contractual acquisition budgets and forecasts, digital proprietary channels and advise on optimizing profitability via strategic trade-offs.

  • Collaborate with internal partners on enhancing and improving the existing Digital client application experience

  • Support in development and execution of Cards digital acquisition across rbc.com, social channels and external banners

  • Ad Hoc duties/business casing and analysis as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Experience in/knowledge of credit card industry

  • Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills with a proven ability to take a data driven approach to make decisions and strategic recommendations

  • Ability to use your excellent communication skills to communicate with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels and show-case yourself as a subject matter expert

  • Creative problem-solving skills with focus on efficient execution while balancing big-picture thinking

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with external partners

  • Experience in/knowledge of credit card acquisition and optimization in digital channels

  • Digital Marketing
