What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Technology & Cyber Risk Management Lead (Global Security), will be a part of the Global IT Risk organization in Global Security, IT Risk Domain Governance which focuses on the strategic implementation of a structured risk stewardship model across RBC's technology functions. This department facilitates the uniformity of risk management practices across RBC’s IT Risk Management framework, strengthening IT governance and oversight.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lead for the IT Risk Domain Governance team. You will oversee the execution of Global IT Risk’s Technology and Cyber Risk Management domain governance practices, coordinating with a highlight distributed risk management community to ensure IT risk governance practices remain audit and regulatory ready and are compliant with internal and external standards.

What will you do?

  • Lead the creation of formal governance forums, charters, and escalation protocols, codifying domain roles and responsibilities, ensuring connectivity with regional and entity stakeholders
  • Act as the single-point-of-contact for Technology & Cyber Risk Management domain governance, continually engaging and communicating with senior business stakeholders on the fulfilment of domain governance obligations.
  • Support the domain risk issue identification and prioritization, maintaining visibility into remediation volumes, treatment plans, and emerging systemic weaknesses across business units and functions
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive risk coverage across the Technology and Cyber Risk Management domain, ensuring consistent implementation of controls across Technology & Operations embedded risk management functions
  • Support the development and maintenance of domain key performance metrics to ensure transparent reporting that are dimensioned by region, entity, and business line
  • Recommend improvements to domain processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations through centralized governance workflows
  • Establish and monitor domain service expectations and performance agreements with internal and external service partners, defining clear escalation paths and accountability

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University graduate or equivalent, Professional designations i.e. CRISC, CISSP, PMP
  • Minimum of 5-7 years IT Risk Management experience demonstrating a strong foundation of risk and control management knowledge and industry experience across Information Technology (IT) domains
  • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration, including experience in organizational change management
  • Proficient at written and oral communication skills to effectively and timely communicate with stakeholders. Analytical and rationale thinking, supported by strong writing skills, are essential to document and communicate IT risk governance expected outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of collaboration tools – JIRA and Confluence
  • Strong organizational awareness, business acumen, customer orientation and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills to analyze and resolve complex issues

Nice-to-have

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research and quantitative skills
  • Working experience in cybersecurity and/or IT risk management spaces
  • Big 4 IT risk consulting and/or audit experience
