Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Lead a dynamic team driving growth in one of Canada’s most competitive investment markets. This is an exciting opportunity to shape acquisition strategy for RBC Direct Investing and to optimize acquisition volumes and costs through different channels. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering the net-client and net-asset acquisition plans (including both gross acquisition and retention volumes) through initiatives and campaigns. They will lead cross functional teams to develop insights and proposals to achieve Direct Investing (DI)’s acquisition goals and partner with teams including marketing and sales to execute those plans. This role gives the opportunity to develop or build on strengths including strategic thought leadership, financial planning & analysis, connecting tactical plans to strategic roadmaps and P&L management.

What will you do?

  • Ownership of and accountability for client and asset acquisition and retention results

  • Accountable for the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting process for net-acquisition activities

  • Accountable for optimizing client acquisition costs (CAC) to lifetime value (LTV) results across channels, segments and offers

  • Lead others through the delivery of initiatives and strategies to grow acquisition or reduce attrition

  • Lead deep dive analytics on key strategic questions relating to net-acquisition, including opportunity analysis and sizing

  • Connect individual tactics and initiatives which support strategic pillars to identify synergies and opportunities to scale

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 7+ years in roles of increasing responsibility in acquisition, retention or similar roles

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

  • Experience in driving P&L outcomes and managing against acquisition and/or retention targets

  • Proven ability to break down complex strategic problems into individual parts

  • Prove ability to influence senior stakeholders and decision makers

  • Proven ability to partner with a diverse group of stakeholders to draw out diverse views & secure alignment

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance or other quantitative field.
