WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
We are seeking an Associate Director of Process Automation & System Oversight to join our Enterprise Hedge Accounting team. This role is critical in driving the transformation of Finance processes by identifying, redesigning, and automating workflows. You will use automation and efficiency tools to reduce manual work, streamline reporting processes, and improve controls. This role also supports the systems and processes in the Corporate Treasury Product Control team. This is a senior-level position requiring both strategic problem-solving and hands-on solution delivery.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Process Re-engineering and Automation
- Identify gaps and opportunities in existing reporting processes, leading initiatives to analyze, redesign and automate to align with the business needs.
- Lead end-to-end automation delivery using appropriate tools, from requirements gathering to solution implementation and adoption.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on automation and efficiency opportunities, balancing technical feasibility with business impact.
- Ensure automated processes are well-documented, controlled and compliant with audit and SOX standards.
System & Process Management
- Act as business owner of the hedge accounting system, ensuring accuracy, integrity and end-to-end reconciliation with the source systems.
- Drive ongoing system enhancements, including automation and control improvements.
- Coordinate with Finance IT to manage system upgrades, testing and issue resolution.
- Manage end-to-end hedging workflows and system operations for the Enterprise Hedge Accounting team.
Support for New Hedging Initiatives
- Partner with IT and other hedging accounting teams, assessing system & process requirements for new hedging initiatives.
- Lead system design and testing to enable new hedge relationships and reporting.
- Ensure new hedges, products and transactions are appropriately captured in RBC Financial Reporting Systems.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
- AI/automation experience (RPA, Python, AI agents)
- Excel macros & VBA experience
- SQL knowledge
- IT background or technical foundation
- People management experience
Nice-to-have:
- Power BI or similar BI tools
- Hedge accounting system knowledge
- Experience with SaaS system vendor management
- Finance process improvement background
