What is the Opportunity?
The Lead Digital Product Owner (Senior Manager) at RBC Insurance plays a pivotal role for the organization as we redefine transform the organization on the forefront of innovation and human-centered design. This highly skilled and visionary individual is responsible for creating the product vision/strategy and for leading Agile teams to develop and deliver exceptional Digital user experiences within the Digital team. This individual also supports the product vision/strategy and leads agile teams to develop and deliver. We are seeking a highly skilled individual who can create product vision/strategy/roadmaps and lead an agile team to execute on the roadmap.
What will you do?
Develop and design and refine a comprehensive and industry leading strategy/vision and product which enables our community to digitally interact with RBC Insurance
Effectively convey/communicate the product vision to the scrum teams, all stakeholders, and interested parties.
Understand the organizational level strategic themes/priorities and consider how they potentially impact/influence the agile release train within the agile program or group of autonomous/dependent teams.
Develop consistent metrics for a group of products and their rationale for measuring success (e.g., ROI), as well as the reporting methodology to track value realization.
Play a leadership role in the squad to ensure prioritization, scope and requirements are clear, and the product vision and strategy as well as how they underpin the scope is well understood.
Evaluate business value achieved versus plan for the product and communicating outcomes to leadership & stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for improvement/innovation and differentiation in our digital product design.
Collaborate and liaise with key business partners and stakeholders in the Digital and Data, Business, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc., to develop business cases and OKRs and liaise with internal risk/legal/compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment.
Create, maintain and oversee program backlog and associated release roadmap(s) while articulating how features/functionality are intended to be implemented, their alignment to OKRs and associated benefits/business growth (revenue, profitability targets, etc.).
Ensure, in advance, that there are always enough well-formed/clear features/user stories including detailed acceptance criteria in the program backlog.
Develop an understanding of the impact to the capacity of the squad(s) that will execute/ship.
Participate/assist with the decision-making that sets the architectural direction on the agreed technology infrastructure that will host the new business functionality for products and product platforms.
Identify/procure business resources for user acceptance testing (where needed) and post-implementation validation (PIV).
Define and maintain the non-functional Requirements (NFRs) in collaboration with Solution Architect to help assure that the solution meets relevant standards and other system quality requirements.
What do you need to Suceed?
Must Have
2+ years of experience in an agile environment representing the voice of the customer and building the right products.
5+ years of relevant progressive business experience with a proven track record of increased responsibility and success, preferably within the financial services industry/sales & distribution working on highly complex initiatives.
Strong communication and thought leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
Expertise in human-centered design methodologies, agile development and user research.
Highly skilled in collaboration, including with other Product Owners, delivery teams, integration/implementation teams and stakeholders to identify and execute agile change management
Define and operationalize a human-centered design process and methodology, focusing on agile delivery and development, ensuring our design practices are adaptable and responsive to changing user demands.
Nice to have
Experience identifying and evaluating AI use cases or leading AI integration initiatives within digital products.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$105,000.00 - $155,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location. If the posting lists multiple job locations, a recruiter can confirm availability of the role and the relevant pay rage for the additional locations listed.
