Ready to start fresh?Join our Inbound Transportation team and play a key role in coordinating the movement of inbound freight across the Sobeys network. As an Inbound Transportation Coordinator, you will work closely with suppliers, carriers, distribution centres, and internal stakeholders to ensure products move safely, efficiently, and on time. Here's what you'll focus on: Inbound Load Planning Carrier and Supplier Coordination: Communicate directly with suppliers and carriers to coordinate pickup and delivery requirements.TMS Management: Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to plan, schedule, and manage inbound freight movements.Exception Management: Identify and resolve transportation issues, delays, and urgent shipment requests to minimize service disruptions. Transportation Coordination Track and Trace: Monitor shipments to ensure successful pickup, transit, and delivery performance.Service Issue Resolution: Investigate and follow up on transportation exceptions, missed appointments, and service concerns.Freight Optimization: Support load planning activities to maximize equipment utilization and freight efficiency. Reporting & Data Management KPI Reporting: Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.Performance Monitoring: Review transportation performance data and identify trends or areas requiring follow-up.Data Accuracy: Maintain accurate transportation records, shipment details, and system updates. Cross-Functional Collaboration Stakeholder Support: Work closely with Replenishment, Distribution Centres, Suppliers, and Carriers to support inbound transportation activities.Customer Service: Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and transportation concerns.Continuous Improvement: Support process improvement initiatives that enhance service, efficiency, and cost performance. What you bring to the table: 2-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.Knowledge of transportation operations and supply chain processes.Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), warehouse systems, or related software is considered an asset.Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.Proven ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.A relevant designation or credential in logistics, supply chain, and/or transportation (P.Log, CITT, CPIM, or SCMP) is considered an asset.
