Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities, and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have an opening for a Buyer. The successful candidate will take an active role in supporting our customer base with excellence in Procurement and will be a suitable transition for someone with Inventory Control background or previous Supply Chain Skills. Here’s where you’ll be focusing:Financial Deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success based on service level, inventory turns and shrink (fresh) Manage service level and inventory performance for respective categories Perform replenishment process, to include purchase order execution for regular turns, promotional, and investment buyingAccountable for service level and inventory turnsSupport the development and execution of best-practice inventory management processes that will meet or exceed benchmarks for customer order fill, freshness, shrink and inventory turnsEnsure that the replenishment function meets budgeted financial targets and contributes to the respective region and banner strategiesMonitor and take appropriate action on vendor performance with respect to order fill and on time deliveryIdentify and communicate opportunities with vendors, Category Management, Merchandising, Replenishment, and Logistics on areas for improvementEnsure that system maintenance (AWR,WDFR) is performed based on ABC classification Accountable for service levels and turns Key support accountabilities Work with Inbound Logistics on developing cold chain/supply chain opportunitiesWork closely with Category Merchants for new listings, major overstock issues and regional merchandising opportunities (i.e. fresh local buys)Work closely with the demand planning team to ensure that promotional activities are planned and distributed correctly and that purchase orders are executed and received on time in order to achieve the targeted service levelWork closely with the Replenishment Process Optimization team to identify opportunities to improve process and track vendor compliance with fill-rate Personal Development Engage and maintain interest in personal growth and/or career development What you have to offer: An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a DEC and a minimum of 4 years relevant experienceKnowledge of principles of demand forecasting and inventory planningExtensive knowledge of Excel (intermediate)Fresh or Grocery experience (Preferred) #LI-MM1#LI-Hybrid
