Job Description:

The Claims Assistant acts under the general supervision of a Senior Manager, Integrated Absence & STD. The role will provide support to the Case Specialists managing claims including FMLA, PFL, ADA and/or other leave programs in conjunctions with Short Term Disability (STD) benefits.

How you will contribute:

· Coordinating coverage for analysts during PTO

· Claim assignments for incoming new claims

· Requesting medical records through an online portal

· Mailing of letters

· Follow up calls to doctors’ offices to confirm treatment

· Faxing and emailing of correspondence to vendors and doctors’ offices and other disability claim documents

· Handles other administrative functions including but not limited to; special mailings, filing, printing files, etc.

· Establishes excellent relationship with claim organization

· Maintains high level of customer service with internal and external customers

· Proficient with Windows and Microsoft application (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint)

· Ability to easily learn new computer programs/systems

· Ability to multitask within multiple programs/systems

· Work and solve problems on one’s own

· Ability to work on one’s own or part of a team

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Time management skills

· Good organization skills and attention to detail

· Ability to adapt to changes accordingly as the position develops and changes with the needs of the business

Required Education and Experience:

· 1+ years of experience in professional administrative role required.

· Strong computer skills, proficient in a PC environment and MS Word, Excel, and email systems

Required Minimum Internet Speed:

Download: 30 Mbps or higher

Upload: 15 Mbps or higher

Latency/Ping: The lower the better but at ideally below 50ms

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

  • Southern region: $41,700 – 56,300 annually

  • Central region: $43,900 – 59,300 annually

  • Northern region: $47,000 – 63,500 annually

If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $39,700 – 53,600 annually.

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $47,000 – 63,500 annually.

If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $43,900 – 59,300 annually.
