Job Description:

    Location: hybrid

    We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to lead our team of Specialists and oversee the development and maintenance of third-party supplier relationships in Canadian Operations. This pivotal role combines strategic supplier management with strong leadership and coaching responsibilities, directly supporting the Director, SRM in driving organizational success through optimized vendor partnerships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a team while driving strategic supplier relationships that contribute to our organization's success. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for coaching and developing others.

    What will you do?

    • Inspire and lead a high-performing team of Supplier Relationship Management Specialists
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize supplier relationships and performance
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with key suppliers
    • Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives
    • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
    • Contribute to long-term supplier relationship strategies
    • Continuously evaluate and enhance team processes
    • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic suppliers

    What do you need to succeed?

    • 5+ years of experience in supplier relationship management or related roles
    • 5+ years of team management and coaching experience
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for building consensus
    • Exceptional ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and make strategic decisions
    • Proven track record of developing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships
    • Strong project and change management expertise
    • Proficiency in supplier relationship management software and data analysis tools
    • Solid understanding of industry regulations (OSFI/B10 guidelines) and compliance requirements
    • Solid understanding of Third-Party Risk Management best practices in supplier management
    • PMP or CPSM designation (an asset)

    Security Clearance Requirement:

    • Must be able to obtain RCMP Reliability Security Clearance before a start date can be confirmed (includes fingerprinting).

    The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
