Job Description:

Sun Life’s Corporate Finance team is leading the journey of thinking and acting like a Digital company for the Global Finance community through a Finance Accelerator. Leveraging principles and values aligned with a Digital Enterprise (DE) organization, we have created a team to accelerate Finance’s digital journey. Our purpose is to transform Finance through process redesign and automation, establishing best practices, and developing common tool platforms across the organization by applying data and analytics.

This role provides opportunities to further advance your skills and career in a great working environment, while taking on new and exciting challenges and adopting the DE way of working with the first ever Accelerator in Finance. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong finance background, a genuine interest in process improvement and a passion to deliver finance solutions to our business partners and clients. Designing and delivering innovative and evolutionary reporting solutions provides the candidate with great opportunities in expanding their knowledge and network across functions and teams within the company while helping to shape the future of Finance processes.

What will you do?

• Collaborate with an agile cross functional team of Finance and IT professionals and stakeholders to identify opportunities, create requirements, and turn vision into value-added outcomes

• Manage decisions in design choices on how we will intake, transform and use data to deliver meaningful business value

• Leverage data expertise to support initiatives through scoping, implementation, impact analysis, and ongoing reporting

• Lead the analysis and validation of financial and analytic results and testing effort for new reporting and analytic developments to ensure solutions are delivered with the highest quality

• Effective and timely communications with internal clients, including engagement status, solutioning options, presentation of demo, recommendations, and outcomes

• Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release Goals

• Provide backlog management and elaboration of user stories

• Responsible for identifying and tracking benefits of opportunities in our pipeline and delivered solutions to demonstrate value to our stakeholders

• Design and develop streamlined and value-added solutions leveraging technology (e.g. Excel, Tableau and SQL) that results in process optimization and/or efficiency

• Keep abreast with Agile best practices and new trends

What do you need to succeed?

• Professional Accounting designation or relevant degree with 3-5 years of related industry experience

• Strong Microsoft office skills

• Knowledge of Hyperion, SAP, Tableau and SQL is advantageous

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to organize, prioritize and make decisions that require innovative thinking

• Knowledge of Lean Agile process and principles (Kanban, Process design and Value optimization)

• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills

• Creative thinker with a vision and desire to learn new skills

• Takes initiative and has strong attention to detail

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
