Job Description:
The Manager, Back Office Operations leads the Data Integrity, Settlements, and SVi‑App Support teams within Dealer Operations. Reporting to the Director, Dealer Business Solutions and Back Office Operations, this role is accountable for the delivery, scalability, and continuous improvement of critical back‑office services supporting advisors, clients, and internal partners across Canada.
Responsibilities:
-Build and support a strong collaborative team culture and the processes to consistently deliver excellent service for our Clients, Advisors and Operational Partners
-Manage the day-to-day execution of service from the various back-office teams
-Manage the design and delivery of process improvements to many levels of the organisation. This includes overseeing effective knowledge and change management efforts.
-Build strong relationships with Advisors and Field Leaders across the country, to both understand opportunities for improvement and to gain the credibility to influence change across the business.
-Build very strong relationships with various internal partners, including IT/Platform, Accounting, Product, Compliance, and Operations teams.
-As a part of the SLFISI management team, you will contribute to our overall strategy setting, initiative planning and prioritization work.
-Use data and analytics to gain insights that will help teams deliver and increase scalability to support growth opportunities.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
-5 or more years of experience in the Canadian investment industry, including experience with financial advisory practices. - knowledge of regulatory and advisor-based business models
- Knowledge of regulatory environment and advisor‑based business models
- People leadership experience in a complex operations environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and continuous improvement initiatives
-Never satisfied with the status quo, you always think there is a better solution
-Developed ability to think strategically and execute tactically, including using data-driven decision-making and the willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
-As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
