Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Group Benefits Service Representative to join the largest Health Benefit insurer in Canada! In this role, you will be responsible for servicing an in-force block of business as well as participating in the acquisition and installation of new business.

You will also participate in project related activities to support client and region goals.

Accountabilities:

  • Arrange service calls with clients and meet face-to-face to discuss and promote Sun Life group benefit products & services

  • Ability to build positive client relationships

  • Train and update Plan Administrators, Plan Members and Advisors on our E-Services

  • Train and update Plan Administrators and Advisors on our Administrative Practices

  • Prepare for and participate in employee presentations, meetings and benefit fairs

  • Understand client wants and needs and take action to meet and exceed them

  • Provide on-going support to Plan Administrators; actively finding solutions to issues

  • Prepare revisions for plan design changes and implement new plan design changes

  • Manage target dates with clients and Advisors with respect to plan design changes

  • Participate in finalist presentations

  • Work closely with Implementation Team and new clients during the implementation process to successfully install new business

  • Build strong working relationships with other business and operational areas of Group Benefits

  • Share ideas with team members that could improve service delivery and processes

  • Driving is required: a valid driver's licence and access to a car are essential

Qualifications:

  • Post- secondary education and a minimum of 5 years group insurance experience

  • Strong working knowledge of MS EXCEL, Powerpoint, & WORD

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
