In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, and play a key role in the day-to-day execution of audit activities within the Corporate Functions & Risk Management portfolio. You will have an opportunity to learn about Sun Life business, as well as enterprise functions like Finance, HR, Compliance and Risk Management.

This role is focused on assisting and executing audits by assessing risks, evaluating internal controls, making recommendations regarding control deficiencies, and identifying areas of opportunity for improvement. Through audit work, you will have the opportunity to develop competencies around influencing various levels of management, project management, and building client relationships across the organization.

What will you do?

• Work with the Manager, Senior Manager, Director, and the AVP – Internal Audit on planning, executing and reporting audit work as assigned
• Execute audit engagements, ensuring proper coverage and consideration of auditing principles, practice and assigned time/budget
• Support the documentation of business understanding, business objectives/performance/metrics, key controls, and test strategy to ensure that audit objectives and approach meet broader business needs
• Support the assessment of key control design and execute testing of key controls and identify gaps
• Support the monitoring of audit findings to ensure effective resolution as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

• University degree in accounting, finance or business
• Professional audit designation (e.g. CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA) or pursuing
• Prior audit experience in the financial services industry or equivalent is an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
