Job summary
Join our dynamic team as a Compensation Supervisor at CSE in the National Capital Region.
We’re looking for a passionate person with leadership skills who thrives working in a fast-paced environment and who values customer service excellence.
As a leader within the Compensation Team, you’ll support the delivery of the operational compensation services to CSE employees. You’ll also play a key role in leading projects and the corporate compensation mandate.
Your work in this position is essential to maintain the integrity of government human resources and pay initiatives, and to protect CSE’s interests.

Area of selection
Open to Canadian citizens. Preference may be given to candidates who reside in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Location
The majority of our positions are in Ottawa, Ontario. CSE has two accessible facilities. Flexible work arrangements, including working remotely, telework for a portion of the work week, may be possible.
Conditions of employment
A valid Enhanced Top Secret (ETS) security clearance is a condition of employment that must be met before an offer can be made.

Essential qualifications
In order to be considered, your cover letter must clearly explain how you meet the following education and experience requirements.
Education
- A secondary school diploma or an *acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. The education program must be recognized in Canada, and you must be able to provide proof of education credentials.
*An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience is defined as four (4) years of high school and two (2) years full-time experience with the Federal Public Service.
Experience
- *Recent experience processing data entries in a Human Resources Management System (HRMS) such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Workday, etc. and direct entries in the Phoenix pay system in the Federal Public Service.
- *Recent experience providing advice and recommendations to stakeholders on **sensitive and complex issues regarding the application and interpretation of compensation related to processing direct entries in Phoenix, directives, policies, rulings, TBS interpretations, collective agreements, and procedures in the Federal public service.
- Experience supervising or leading a compensation project or a compensation team with direct entry access to Phoenix in the Federal Public Service.
*Recent experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally acquired with the performance of duties over approximately two (2) years within the last four (4) years.
**sensitive and complex issues are defined as cases which require a high degree of sensitivity due to the nature of the request (financial hardship, privacy issues, violence, etc.) and combination of calculations, research, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, etc. related to the full range of compensation services (pay, leave, benefits and pension).
